It's not a book, it's a short story. When it's done, I'll post it on QOA. 
I'm probably not going to bother trying to sell short fiction any longer -- 
it's literally not worth the money. (Though possibly the exposure? Last I 
was aware -- a decade ago -- Asimov's was still selling something like 
100,000 copies?)

The main character is William Price -- captains the first tachyon starship, 
creates the November Guard, ends up as the first Director of United Earth 
Intelligence. He's just a regular joe. :-)
